If you are running late and you won't be able to collect your rental car at the allocated time, it is important to get in touch with the branch you are collecting from so that we can make alternate arrangements.

Caboolture is a great base for a number of day trips. As it’s situated within an hour to both Brisbane city centre and the Sunshine Coast, you’re in an ideal spot for all kinds of  adventures. However, you don’t have to stray too far if you don’t want to! This small town is full of unique surprises and is a great resting place while you explore the Moreton Bay region. 

With typically sunny temperatures, Caboolture will be the perfect spot for your holiday. It’s close to some huge tourist hotspots but is a much quieter town - perfect for those who want a bit of downtime in between some big adventure days. 

Let’s Hit the Road from Caboolture with Thrifty

Caboolture is situated in the Moreton Bay region, which makes it the perfect place for a day trip. Fill your Thrifty car up with all the needed essentials, and let’s hit the road as we explore all that Moreton Bay has to offer.

This trip will see some awesome sights, like the incredible forestry and mountains of Beerburrum Forest Reserve. Either drive through the reserve or stop for some quick snaps and even a hike or two! This drive will also take you through the Glass House Mountains National Park, an extraordinary place listed on both the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. You’ll also see Peachester State Forest and Mount Mee Forest! All  these incredible places surround the western Caboolture region, and it’s well worth the drive.

Caboolture is a really unique town, with plenty to offer tourists. Let’s take some time to explore what Caboolture has to offer!

Caboolture on a Sunday is something special. Their Sunday Markets host over 500 stalls and is the perfect place to explore, get to know the locals, and shop! These stalls stock everything from farm fresh eggs, produce, clothing, machinery, collectables, handmade crafts, bric-a-brac and plants. It’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning!

Caboolture is a town known for its history! In fact, it has a world-class history museum, The Abbey Museum of Art and Archeology. This museum is your gateway to an ancient world, holding over 4,000 historical objects from the most incredible eras in modern, medieval, and ancient history. You can learn all about the Roman Empire, Ancient Egypt, and Europe from medieval times to the Renaissance and beyond! There is also the Caboolture Historical Village - with interactive displays, daily steam train rides, beautiful gardens, 70 plus buildings to explore and 110,000 objects to view, it’s a day full of learning and exploration. 

If it’s a nice day out, head to the lakes for a picnic! Caboolture’s Centenary Lakes is beautifully lined with trees, bridges, and pathways - pack up some delicious food and spend some arvo hours relaxing in this local gem. 

Caboolture is a gorgeous small town and one that shouldn’t be overlooked on your Thrifty adventure.
