Spend Time in Tweed Heads, with Thrifty

Most people venture to Tweed Heads for the beaches. With warm weather, sunny days, and beaches like Cabarita Beach close by, you’ll find yourself wanting endless beach days while you’re here.

Cabarita Beach is unlike any other. It’s known for its beautiful views, stunning surf, and relaxed, laidback lifestyle. It sits in a small coastal village, and the 3000 residents all have a unique lifestyle while staying here. Make sure to visit during the winter months to watch the annual whale migration in the Pacific Ocean; a local pastime for many, it’s certainly surreal to see the humpbacks breach and play as they swim past.

Once you’ve started your day with a swim or a surf, head to Zeta’s Coffee for a morning brew and maybe some breakfast. There’s also Ben’s Patisserie in Murwillumbah, which is known for the fantastic croissants, or Baked at Ancora, where you can enjoy stunning views as you sip your coffee.

Now for those that want a day away from the beach, head to Wollumbin National Park. Tweed Heads is the gateway to this incredible rainforest. Home to Mount Warning, this is a sacred spot for the Bundjalung people. Get out into nature and walk through the oldest tracks in the world as you climb up to one of the many viewing spots. When at the top, enjoy the awe-inspiring view of the sub-tropical rainforest, which is one of the oldest on earth.

Let’s Go for a Road Trip with Thrifty
