Explore Mandurah by land or sea, with Thrifty

Mandurah is a gem of a city. Named Mandjoogoordap, or ‘meeting place of the heart’ by the Bindjareb people of the Noongar Nation, it’s clear that this special city will capture the love of all who visit it.

Mandurah boasts a cosmopolitan city with a beautiful backdrop of endless white-sand beaches. There is also the Peel-Harvey Estuary; twice the size of the Sydney Harbour, Mandurah has endless canals and rivers which can all be explored by boat. No wonder it’s known as a modern-day Venice. Make sure while you’re exploring the water to keep an eye out for some of the bottlenose dolphins that inhabit the area. And, if you’re feeling bold, hire a boat, canoe, kayak, or jet ski to explore - there’s no license required, which means you’ll have endless fun in the water. There are also many boat tours and cruises available for day trips - so whatever you choose, you won’t miss out.

If you’re feeling seasick, it’s okay to head inland. There’s so much to do off the water. Hop on a four-wheel drive tour to run rampant over the beaches or book a spot on a walking tour to learn more about the history of Mandurah.

Don’t worry if you get hungry, as there are plenty of places to enjoy a nice dinner. Try Flics Kitchen, Alfresco Restaurant and Cafe, or, if you’re feeling fancy, head to Redmanna Waterfront Restaurant. There are options to suit every budget, so do some research and enjoy!
