Take your time to visit the surrounding areas while you’re here. Chances are, you’ll never experience a region quite like this one.

Lismore is the gateway to some incredible nature spots. In fact, it’s home to some of the oldest rainforests on earth that are millions of years old. These rainforests are part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia and include Wollumbin National Park and Mebbin National Park. Get lost amongst the trees and enjoy the sounds of nature as you hike through these natural beauties! 

If you fancy the beach over the rainforest,  head to Bundjalung National Park. Pack your bathers, because this is the perfect mix of beaches, rivers, and freshwater lagoons. You’ll spend more time in the water than out! Other options include the dreamy coastal towns of Ballina and Byron Bay. Each with its own rugged coastline, these spots are popular with locals and tourists alike. Ballina is much quieter than Byron, so head here if you want a break from the crowds.
