Car Rental Klemzig Downtown

It’s time for your trip to Klemzig Downtown! Truly a fantastic suburb to have as your base for a South Australian adventure, it’s both a quiet area, but also close to North Adelaide and Norwood for a taste of city life. While you’re in Klemzig, you can also take road trips to Belair National Park and Morialta Conservation Park.

Klemzig, as with the larger Adelaide area, has a Mediterranean climate with mild and wet winter months and dry and hot summers. We recommend the perfect times to visit are the spring and autumn months before the weather becomes too hot to explore easily. But, we know that whatever season you choose to visit, you’ll enjoy your time here.

Klemzig is going to be the base for some fantastic adventures while you’re in South Australia. However you choose to spend your time exploring, we know that you’ll have the best time with Thrifty.

Keep it Local, with Thrifty

While you’re staying in Klemzig, we recommend getting out and about to explore the local area, too. Grab a coffee at Mooiii Cafe before heading to Norwood for brekkie.

Norwood is just a fifteen-minute drive from Klemzig and is renowned for its gourmet food. Head to local favourite Argo, where you’ll find fresh juices, great coffee, and classic brekkie combos. Get there early if you’re here on the weekend though, as it’s an institution within Norwood. Other great spots include Caffe Buongiorno, Pavé Cafe, and 33 Chapel. While you’re here, wander through the leafy streets as you explore the boutique shops, local delicacies, and bars that Norwood has to offer. We recommend checking out Cinnamon Club Norwood and the Bath Hotel while you’re here also.

Adelaide is also a short distance away from Klemzig, so we think a trip to the capital of South Australia is a great idea whilst you’re staying here. Adelaide has countless options to spend the day, so why not head here for a day or two to do them all? Keep it local at Adelaide Central Market, which is a favourite amongst locals and a great way to taste the local produce. Head to one of the many beautiful beaches that surround Adelaide, like Glenelg or Henley Beach. Make sure to catch the sunset while you’re here, as it’s simply stunning. Or take in the culture at the Art Gallery of South Australia or the South Australian Museum, both of which are renowned for their respective collections.

Located further afield is the Adelaide Hills region. It’s a forty-minute drive from Klemzig and is a trip that should be enjoyed responsibly. The Adelaide Hills is a fantastic wine region, so make sure if you take a day trip here, you have a designated driver on hand to explore safely. That being said, Adelaide Hills is home to a plethora of gorgeous wineries and cellar doors. Make sure to check out Hahndorf Wines, Ashton Hills, Golding Wines, Down the Rabbit Hole and so many more. There are over 200 cellar doors on offer in Adelaide, which is why it’s known as the wine capital of Australia.

Take a Road Trip with Thrifty

When you’ve finished exploring the local areas to Klemzig, it’s time for a road trip or two!

Belair National Park is just 25-minutes from Adelaide city centre. It’s South Australia’s oldest national park, sobask in the natural history as you explore walking tracks like Valley Loop Hike, Waterhall Hike, or the Microcarpa Hike. You’ll spend hours in this beautiful area so make sure to take your camera with you. It’s beautiful from every angle.

Morialta Conservation Park is a much-loved recreational escape. Expect to see gorges, waterfalls, and plenty of woodlands while you’re here. Walk to the main waterfall with the First Falls walk - visit in winter when this waterfall will have plenty of water rushing through. Or, if you’re one for adventure, head to the Morialta rock-climbing zone, which is the most popular area for natural climbing in South Australia.

There is certainly plenty to do on your trip here to Klemzig! With so many activities to do from the moment you arrive, we know that your trip will be one to remember. We look forward to welcoming you here soon, at Thrifty Klemzig Downtown.
