Car Rental Grafton Airport

Grafton is part of a picturesque region of the NSW coast. Around a 30-minute drive from the ocean, Grafton is surrounded by nature and other small regional towns. Being close to locations like Coffs Harbour and a number of national parks, you will never be short on places to take your rental car.

The Grafton Airport is around a 17-minute drive from the CBD. The city of Grafton is split into two sections by the Clarence River, with the Grafton Bridge joining Grafton and South Grafton together. There are many nice walking trails in town along the Clarence River and some excellent restaurants with views of the river to return to after a day of adventuring around the region.

Grafton is just a short drive from Coffs Harbour, the starting location of one of the best drives in all of Australia, Waterfall Way. Running from Coffs Harbour to Armidale, this route takes its name from the many waterfalls that are dotted along its route, crossing through 5 national parks; it is a stunning drive and not to be missed. The drive from Grafton to Coffs Harbour is also lovely. We recommend taking a triangle route running from Grafton to Coffs Harbour, then along Waterfall Way that ends in Armidale and back up to Grafton. Across this drive, you will see fern-filled valleys, giant trees, waterfalls, streams and rivers and a range of native wildlife and flora and fauna.

The Grafton Region is Filled with Nature and Easy to See with a Hire Car

Grafton is surrounded by national parks that offer unforgettable sites and fun activities. Nymboida National Park is filled with stunning rock formations, hundreds of bird species, white water rafting and more. The best part of these parks is that there are stunning views and walking trails not far from the car park. But, if you really feel like stretching your legs, longer trails and multi-day camping treks are available.

Camping on the Nymboida River gives you a feeling of being a million miles away from everywhere else in the world. The park is just under a two-hour drive from Grafton. Other national parks within a close driving distance of Grafton are the Guy Fawkes River National Park, Washpool National Park and Yuraygir National Park. Each of these parks offers unspoilt natural wilderness with a range of activities both water based and on land. You can experience exactly the right amount of wilderness while still remaining comfortable and only a few hours away from the Grafton CBD. So why not enjoy the best of regional New South Wales’ wilderness with the comfort that Grafton provides.

Use Your Rental Car to Take in the Sights in Grafton

When many people think of Grafton, one thing comes to mind; Jacaranda trees. These purple trees line the streets of Grafton, and during their blooming period, a festival is held in the town, the aptly named ‘Jacaranda Festival’. The festival includes art, live theatre, food, raffles, concerts and more. But Grafton is a fun town all year round, not just during the October to December months. With beautiful heritage buildings, including Christ Church Cathedral, Grafton is filled with stunning national trust sites. Take your car hire and drive around on a self-driving tour of Grafton and take in all this well-preserved history. There are museums, parks, churches, galleries, restaurants, markets and more. Whether you are looking to sit back and relax in a calming Australian regional town or you’re seeking an outdoor wilderness adventure, you will find plenty to do in and around Grafton.
