Since its declaration as Australia’s first inland city in 1863, Goulburn has a proud history and culture which you’ll likely explore while you’re here. Take note of the Big Merino which stands on the cusp of the city borders: a celebration of the fine wool industry in the neighbouring regions, this ram stands as a proud monument overlooking Goulburn. It’s one of Australia’s ‘big things’, iconic statues that line the country’s towns. 

Goulburn is part of the cool climate wine region. Local to this city are Kingsdale Wines and Bungonia Creek Wines. Both are beautiful settings and the perfect place to explore the local delicacies of the area. Goulburn is located close to Bungonia National Park: the adventure capital of the Southern Tablelands. Perhaps head on the short Molly O’Neil track to the Lookdown lookout, where you’ll be rewarded with the scenic view of Bungonia Slot Canyon. Or take part in one of the many adventure sports on offer here, like abseiling, rock climbing, caving, or canyoning. You can try it all while exploring this national park.

Start your day with breakfast at either Grit Cafe, Park Cafe, or the Corner Cafe, which is known for its generous portions and delicious food. Wineries like Artemis Wine, Centennial Vineyards, and Bendooley Estate are all epic places to discover - even the food at these places is simply superb and well worth trying out. Bowral is a charming countryside town that has captured the hearts of many, as it’ll likely capture yours when you visit.
