Go at your own pace and see the wineries that grab your attention without fuss or worry about being in a tour group. It’s too easy with a rental car! We also recommend trying out the artisanal foods in the area. A particular stand-out is the Origins Market, which houses hundreds of stalls that deliver the finest foods in the area. It opened in 2021 and has already proved to be enormously popular amongst locals, so go check it out for the best local food, produce, and crafts.

If you miss the city lights, Perth is only three hours away. Get up early and beat the traffic to enjoy the sunniest city in Australia in all of its glory. Perhaps head over to King’s Park or cruise around Elizabeth Quay for a morning on the water. Head to Fremantle and enjoy the beaches here, or get the ferry over to the incredible Rottnest Island, where the world’s friendliest marsupial, the quokka, awaits.

A vibrant and thriving community, Busselton is world-famous for being home to the longest timber-made jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Spanning a huge 1.8 kilometres into the Indian Ocean, it’s an incredible structure that many visit year-round. Walk along to the edge and see what incredible sights you can see this far out in the water. The jetty is known to be windows to the underwater playground below, giving unparalleled access to the sea life in the ocean. Between May and December, the jetty is a phenomenal whale spotting location, so keep your eyes to the horizon and see them swim past. If nothing catches your eye, the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean will still be breathtaking.
