Looking after the little ones
Australian Standards approved baby seats are compulsory in all Australian states for infants under 4 years (depending on height and weight), and booster seats are compulsory for children up to 7 years (depending on height and weight). Most child car seats are fitted using the car seat belt and a tether strap that attaches to an anchor point. It is important the seat is appropriate for your baby's age and weight.
Thrifty can provide up to 3 baby seats with your rental car. More than 2 seats will require an FCAR (eg.Toyota Camry) or larger vehicle to be booked.
Thrifty staff are available to assist you fit the baby seat in the hire car for you. The seats are able to accommodate both the rear and forward facing positions, depending on the age of your child.
It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to ensure the seat is fitted correctly and is the right seat for the age and size of the child. For further details and help selecting the right seat for your child please refer to: http://www.kidsafe.com.au/crguidelines.
