Things to see and do with a car rental in Port Douglas

Port Douglas may be small, but you’ll be surprised at just how much there is to see and do in town and throughout northern Queensland. If you love a bit of retail therapy, the main shopping area and its boutique stores are on Macrossan Street – just near where you pick up your rental.

Four Mile Beach is a real must-visit, as this unspoiled stretch of coastline is regularly voted as one of Australia’s best. Head up in the late afternoon and find out why the sunsets there are so famous. You can also take a quick drive up Flagstaff Hill to see Four Mile Beach from a different angle and enjoy even more epic views of the region.

The town’s coastal location makes it a great spot from which to explore the ocean, and the nearby Agincourt Reef is definitely one of those unmissable spots. As well as seeing wildlife beneath the waves, you can make your way to the Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, which gives you a glimpse at some of Australia’s most iconic and fascinating species.

You’re also just an hour away from Cairns heading south, and an hour from the Daintree Rainforest heading north, so you’ll be spoiled for choice for things to do no matter where you go!
