Tips and advice when visiting the Newman region

Be wary of animals and livestock on the roads. Wildlife is usually extra active around dawn and dusk so be extremely cautious when driving at these times, and avoid driving after dark if possible.

Things to see and do with a rental car in Newman

Thrifty Car Rental NewmanThere’s always loads to do in Newman. You can visit the Hickman Meteorite Crater off the Marble Bar Road, and take a dip in the Eagle Rock Falls & Pool. One of the most incredible historic sites nearby is the Wanna Munna rock carvings, where you can view hundreds of petroglyphs on the stone surrounding a scenic water hole. Meanwhile, for awesome 360-degree views of the town, take a short drive up Radio Hill to the lookout – the vista will take your breath away.

Of course, the nearby Karijini National Park is a huge drawcard for visitors in the region. As Australia’s second largest park, this is a place of rugged scenery, wildlife and discovery. While most of the southern part of the park is inaccessible, you can visit the northern areas to see its stunning gorges, waterfalls and rock pools.
