Start your exploration of Launceston from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 11:00am on Saturdays. Keep in mind Sundays we are closed, so if you wanted to pick up or drop off a hire car, please visit our Launceston Airport branch that is open 7.30am to 8.30pm on Sundays.
Things to see and do in Launceston
Launceston has the goods when it comes to holiday attractions. The city itself showcases its 200 year history through Colonial architecture and history buffs can learn more by visiting one of the many dedicated history museums, including the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery and the Launceston Tramway Museum.
The nearby Cataract Gorge Reserve is a great spot to take in the beauty surrounding the city. You can enjoy a guided walk around the Gorge, take the chairlift to the top to see some spectacular views and if you're a true adrenaline junkie you can even rock climb up the ragged cliffs.
Launceston is also a great place to see some of Australia's native animals including the Tasmanian devil at the Tasmania Zoo or Trowunna Wildlife Park. Plus you can't come to Launceston without cruising down the infamous Tamar Valley Wine Route home to over 20 cellar doors.
