The future of mobility is electric, and Australia is set for road transport powered by zero-emission vehicles.

To help achieve that future, NRMA is building Australia’s largest electric vehicle fast-charging network.

About our vehicle charging network

The $10 million project will deliver at least 40 new chargers – more than doubling the number of chargers in the current network in NSW and the ACT. It will be free for all 2.4 million NRMA members, and the charging stations will be strategically installed where members live, where electric vehicles are used and supported, and, of course, popular tourist spots.

The plans are part of NRMA’s Social Dividend Investment Strategy, which is working to support the global transition of petrol-powered cars to electric and automated vehicles.

Building the network has already commenced with the first charger located at the NRMA Headquarters in Sydney Olympic Park.

Making Australian travel better than ever

NRMA hopes the new project will encourage Australia to embrace electric vehicles, as our nation has been slower to purchase electric vehicles due to the high costs and limited access to safe and fast chargers. The increase of electric vehicles will also improve Australia’s fuel security by reducing demand for imported fuels.

Range anxiety will be a thing of the past as more Australians choose electric vehicles, be it for their daily commute, a coastal weekend getaway or alpine adventure.

NRMA is encouraging their members, local councils, and community groups to show their interest in obtaining a charging station across metropolitan and regional areas – if you would like to get involved or would like more information, visit MyNRMA.
