About South Australia

South Australia is the southern central state of Australia and home to around 1.6 million people, of which (92%) live in the capital city being Adelaide. Driving in South Australia

If you are not flying into Adelaide or one of the other regional airports, driving to there will take around nine hours and a half hours from Melbourne and is a distance of 728 kilometres the majority of which is driven on the Western Highway. Driving from Adelaide to New South Wales is considerably longer at around 1,376 kilometres and should take around seventeen hours, along the Sturt and Hume Highways amongst others.
