Day 1: PERTH - MANDURAH (76KMS - 1 HOUR)
Leave Perth just after midday and begin your journey south to Mandurah. Enjoy the relaxed seaside resort of Mandurah with calm protected waterways and great beaches or spend a couple of hours at the Peel Discovery Centre. You could also spend the afternoon on the estuary fishing or crabbing.
Overnight in Mandurah
Day 2: MANDURAH - DUNSBOROUGH (178KMS - 2 HOURS)
Travel south over the Dawesville Cut then along the scenic route to Bunbury and on to the coastal town of Dunsborough. Spend the rest of the day exploring the many activities Dunsborough has to offer. Why not go for a dive on the Naturaliste Reef or on the HMAS Swan Wreck or join the local surfers at Yallingup. You can also visit the local art and craft galleries, explore limestone caves, sample local gourmet produce and feast your eyes on idyllic coastal scenery such as Canal Rocks.
Overnight in Dunsborough
Day 3: DUNSBOROUGH - PEMBERTON (256KMS - 3 HOURS)
Travel through the wine growing region of Margaret River to Pemberton. Enjoy a visit to the mighty "Gloucester Tree" which houses the highest fire lookout tree in the world, 60 metres above the ground. You can also see an impressive range of local woodcrafts for sale, sample the produce of the local wineries or fish for rainbow trout in streams and dams.

Day 4: PEMBERTON - WALPOLE (123KMS - 1½ HOURS)
Drive from Pemberton southwards towards the quaint town of Walpole - home to the famous "Valley of the Giants" and the famed Giant Tree Top Walk. This spectacular tree top walk has been constructed through the canopy of this unique tingle forest. At its highest point of the rigid 600m long bridge is around 40 metres above the forest floor. Other great attractions on offer are Conspicuous Cliff, a beautiful coastal spot accessible by steps for fishing, whale watching or relaxing.

Day 5: WALPOLE - MARGARET RIVER (180KMS - 2 HOURS)
Drive West along South Western Highway, turning off towards Pemberton. Travel through to the wine growing region of Margaret River, enjoying lunch at one of the world renowned wineries. Explore the stunning crystal formations in Margaret River's magnificent cave system.

Day 6: MARGARET RIVER - PERTH (279KMS - 3 HOURS)
Drive north along Bussell Highway to Busselton; be sure to take a stroll or the train along the 2km Busselton Jetty. Keep heading north to Bunbury and through to Mandurah, enjoy your lunch with the pelicans on the Mandurah foreshore arriving back in Perth late afternoon. |
